Volunteering & Giving
Investing yourself in the lives of others

Bridgewater Retirement Community offers a variety of opportunities to volunteer your special talents for enhancing the quality of care our residents enjoy. Sharing the gift of your time is easy and can really make a difference in many lives — including your own.

You can participate in established programs like assisting during special events and activities, helping with resident services, or assist our staff in providing important services to our campus community.

For further information or to volunteer contact us at 540-828-2682 or 1-800-419-9129 or e-mail us at volunteer@bridgewaterretirement.org.

The gift of your time or resources to Bridgewater Retirement Community helps insure that all the benefits of life at Bridgewater will be enjoyed by today’s residents, and those in the future. By volunteering you can touch many lives right away. Meanwhile, your monetary donation supports our mission for years to come, and it is tax deductible.

The Bridgewater HealthCare Foundation (BHFI) — Insuring the Future

The mission of Bridgewater HealthCare Foundation is to acquire economic support for Bridgewater Retirement Community with special emphasis on the residents of Bridgewater Home who have limited or exhausted financial resources. Through the efforts of the Foundation quality care for our residents will continue for years to come. There are a variety of gift-giving opportunities and special campaigns to provide for the current and future needs of our residents and the growth of our campus.

The Foundation also acts as a service resource to provide information and assistance for sound financial planning for charitable gift annuities, estate planning, trusts, and more. We can help with planned charitable giving through bequests, securities, qualified real estate, life insurance policies, appreciated properties, and memorials and honor gifts. Upon request, the Foundation will provide written information, and seminars about charitable giving and estate planning. Contributions to Bridgewater HealthCare Foundation are tax deductible.

All donations, great and small, benefit many deserving seniors. Below are brief descriptions of giving opportunities.

Resident Care Endowment Fund
The Resident Care Endowment Fund (RCEF) was created for the purpose of providing supplemental funding for residents who are not able to afford the total cost of on-going care. Interest from this endowment directly aids Bridgewater Home in offsetting the difference between the amounts reimbursed by Medicaid and other support agencies and the cost of resident care.

Pastoral Care Endowment Fund
Established in 1988, the Pastoral Care Endowment Fund (PCEF) enables donors to perpetuate the Pastoral Care program and the operation and maintenance of Lantz Chapel.
